| In June 2006, the NCHF held a seminar in Launceston on managing risk in community housing operations.
The seminar was based on an NCHF publication published in early 2006 that contextualised world best practice in risk management for community housing providers. In a social housing sector increasingly focused on partnerships with the private sector, it is important for community housing providers to build on its current skills in risk management in order to develop sound risk management practices integrated with business processes and planning.
The seminar was an opportunity for providers to learn more about risk management in community housing. Participants had the chance to hear a risk management expert and a large rural provider from NSW talk about the benefits of risk management and how to integrate good practice into their business.
